My life is a concentric circle. While I'm a lifelong writer and comic-book fan who found his calling when he fell in love with Stan Lee's writing at age 10, I took the scenic route to fulfilling that calling. Harboring post-high-school delusions of being a rock star, I played in bands and knocked around at odd jobs for ten years — hospital orderly, truck driver for a construction company, clothing salesman, and warehouse worker for an appliance-distribution company. (I was once hit in the head by a dishwasher, which may explain much.) At age 28, I realized I was getting neither younger nor smarter. So, I put myself through Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

After three insurance-company jobs, my next realization was that I'm no corporate animal. I got out. While working at an advertising agency in my mid-40s, I found myself. At the same agency in my late-40s, I found my way when my boss told me I couldn't write. (If you want to make sure something gets done, tell an Irishman he can't do it — he's not capable or he doesn't have permission. If you want to make sure something never gets done, tell an Irishman he has to do it.) I founded a brand-management and marketing-communication firm at age 50 and found my voice. I was introduced to Dominick Domasky, founder of Motivation Champs Media in 2024. He published my first graphic novel, The Waterloo Diaries: The Bedsore Conspiracy, in 2025. I'm presently writing two more graphic novels, True Grime: A Drake Manning Mystery (based on one of my short stories) and The Amazing Adventures of Authentic Man. There will be more.
